The thousands of islands and vast coastline of Greece makes it an ideal place for sea access, and the main ports of Corfu, Heraklion, Igoumenitsa, Patras, Piraeus, Rhodes, Thessaloniki and Volos are used frequently by passenger and cruise liners as well as car ferries, with services available to and from Croatia, Cyprus, Italy, Russia and Turkey. These services are operated by a number of companies including, but not limited to: Celebrity Cruises, Holland America Line, Princess Cruises and Costa Cruises. Ports are widespread through the Greek islands and can be very busy in summer months.
